You might have thought that after a week off, we’d come back with the strongest batch of Jammz yet to grace the HDJz. You might have thought we’d scour the internetz for the best looking, best sounding, most wonderfullest groups, bands, and artists we could find. Spare no expense, leave no stone unturned, follow all leads, hunt down each and every possibility like our lives depended on it, right? Wrong! All we did was throw a bunch of junk in there just to fill space. Retreads, copycats, posers and incompetents, one and all. Enjoy!
This weeks’ Jammz all come courtesy of charter HDJammmer Heather Phares. On Wednesday afternoon she built a floor-to-ceiling wall of unopened promo CDs and sequestered herself from all distractions. No yammering from her cubemates, no looking out the window at the cascading snowflakes, no thoughts of hot chocolate from our fancy new coffee machine. All she had was the internet, a No. 2 pencil and a burning desire to find the hottest, damnest bands she could, just for you and your loved ones. We may be biased but it looks like she may have succeeded. These ten bands are hott, exciting and definitely worthy of your precious time. Take tomorrow off Heather, you’ve earned it. 
Oh no! The jammz have gone pop! No scuzzy lo-fi noiseniks, no art-broken synth duos, no mutton-chopped garage howlers. No two-bit 8-bit electro bands, no neo-psych post-punk combos from Wales. No Brooklyn! No collectives who make their own clothes. Just shiny, happy tunes with big dumb hooks. Synths that go whoosh, guitars that are mostly invisible, and singers who may have taken a lesson or two, but still need some digital help to get by. Boy band revivalists, singing drummers, Alphabeat tribute bands, sparkly hands and Autotune. Gotta have Autotune!! 
This week we hand the keys to the Jammz over to some of our dedicated users. Not that we needed a break, nothing like that at all. We’re just as fired up and dedicated as ever to bring you the jammz! We just thought it would be nice to see what you guys would pick if given a chance. And the stuff that was chosen is very diverse, very interesting and very far below the radar. Nice work everyone! 
We’ve been doing the HDJz for over a year now and it’s been a constant source of amazement to us at the sheer number of good-to-great bands, singers and producers out there. Maybe they aren’t all world-beaters, innovators or game-changers, but then again, maybe some of them will turn out to be just that. All we know is that it’s a lot of fun digging these bands up and we hope you like it too. 
The globe has once again been spanned, the Jammz have been procured for your listening pleasure, and the seatbelt light has been turned off. Feel free to move about the cabin while enjoying the beverage of your choice. Word from the captain is that we’ll be cruising along at about 35,000 miles as the music takes us higher. The only turbulence you may experience will be from those darn noise rockers we can’t seem to get enough of around here. Enjoy your flight on HDJ Airlines and please fly us again next week 
Actually they could replace all the late night TV hosts with test patterns and it wouldn’t matter much to us. We have such single minded devotion to finding the Hot Damns that we spend all the hours we aren’t in front of a computer….in front of a computer, spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of jammz….the thrill of victory….the agony of Laffitte…the humid drama of musical composition…this is AMG’s Wide World of Jammz! 
There are some weeks that just serve to wear you out and this is one of them. With all the death and destruction everywhere you look, there are relatively few bright spots to be found. Now we’re not suggesting that the HDJz are an antidote to the hard times, we just want to be an option. If you need a new band to cheer you up for a minute or a song to take your mind off the troubles of the day, you can turn to us and we’ll do our best to deliver something interesting. We have a very strong batch of groups this week and without further ado, here they are…
