Video Jam of the Day: Cola Jet Set – En Esta Pista Ya No Se Puede Bailar

One of the sweetest, smoothest and most enjoyable pop records of 2009 was Cola Jet Set’s Guitarras y Tambores on Elefant Records. The group’s playful songs, lighter-than-air instrumentation, and lovely vocal harmonies are a perfect fit with the label’s sound and also a perfect soundtrack for a dance party, as this video for the latest single taken from the album shows. A smiling, ridiculously happy dance party with tons of glitter, awkward dance moves and polka dot dresses. Geez, I wish I was in this video….

That sucked so solidly that I am thankful it was in Spanish and that I didn’t understand any of the vocals…well, a few scattered words.
Meh.
Congrats! You actually found a Latino act worse than the three drunk guys with guitars who “perform” on the subway in New York City.
How about you review the brand new Rubinoos album “Biff Boff Boing” or even update their entry. May not be the most popular band around but certainly one of the greatest.
This is great. Too bad it’s in Spanish!
If the Brady Bunch were Spanish, this band would have played at Peter’s 16th birthday party.
Ah, I see 1961 has hit Spain at last. Is that your Grandad on guitar?
Nothing original about this at all. Why do these guys deserve a post like this? And this isn’t the first time I’ve seen them pop up on these blogs either. You’re getting some kick back I hope.
Dreadful. This must be one of those “it’s foreign so it must be good” things. Weak vocals, unoriginal song, been-there-done-that retro atmosphere.
This is not original but I love it.
Good vibrations!
This is a joke right?!
I demand every woman on earth to dress like this singer. Now.
I’m the grandad guitarist, 47 and proud, songwriter and husband to the lead singer, uglier than any of the dancers so what.
Oh, by the way, this song was rerecorded in English to be released next Spring, ha ha ha.
Well…it’s not good.
Not for you, I can see.
You don’t like this song = You have no life.
This is awesome. All you idiots go back to listening to something painfully obscure and unlistenable while spending Saturday night with Mr. Hand.
