Legendary old-school rappers the Fat Boys are launching a clothing line. Their T-shirts will be available at retailers like Urban Outfitters and Hot Topic soon. The group will also be performing a comeback show in Detroit at an undisclosed time and are working on something called “Fat Boys Weekend,” which will take place in 2010. Sadly, Darren Robinson, aka The Human Beat Box, won’t be performing with them due to his tragic death back in 1995. [HipHopDX]

I believe the Human Beat Box passed in 1995 - not ‘85. Yes?
I’ve never heard of Juan Gabriel, the divo of Juarez, the so-called Elton John of Mexico. My ears would probably bleed if I listened to tejano music. Hell, I’d rather hear 24 hours worth of polka or disco music. And check out the blue satin suit. Geez, do people really dress like that? Give this dude all the awards you want, Hispanic people, but keep him AND his hideous suit AND his music in Mexico, where it belongs. Sorry if I sound like a bitter racist. However, they have the Latin Music Awards, BET Awards, etc. How about an Exclusively White American Music Awards? Oh, that would be politically incorrect.
They do have an exclusively white american music awards
it’s called the grammys
now stop crying
Do not worry “christmas shopping”, Gabriel will never leave Mexico, we promise, you are safe. Now, can you please come and pick up your Lady Gaga, she is driving us crazy.
OMG, latin people for Latin americans, but latin american is not only mexican people. This is the problem, people think is all about tejano and mexico. There are country =s like brazil where ther’s no such style. They have samba, bossa nova, mpb, jazz… Frank sinatra covered tom jobim’s songs, he and joão gilberto are the trully masters behind Getz/Gilberto, not Stan Getz. Astrud gilberto, elis regina, maria rita or the greatest of all Marisa Monte who is among the greatest female singers ever. They are latin cause they were born in brazil, but they are all white. The same way there are black people in europe, there’s white over here. This is racy and sad, because music should be universal, not about the color, but the talent. Those people are so influential that their music are beyond brazil, nelly furtado covered caetano veloso, same for devendra banhart. Brazilian musicians are big, the same goes to the rest of the latin america, too bad people are only interested at shakira, cause there’s so MUCH BETTER stuff over here. Just listen to Os Mutantes and the whole tropicalia movement with gal costa, gilberto gil and jorge ben. just search at allmusic, and you’ll see their 4, 4.5 and even 5 stars album. Music is STRONG, so strong that although they are singing in portuguese they albums are rated so high at a american website (allmusic), and pitchfork and stylus magazine named brazilians songs and albums at their best-of lists. But unlike you i’m not going to say that it’s easier to hear about critically acclaimed latin artists than polka, because i love music form everywhere, i don’t care if it’s british or egyptian, good music has only one language music itself.
sorry, some mistakes:
*latin grammy is for latin americans, but latin americans are not only mexican people
*because i love music fromm everywhere
Once they removed all of the white music that isn’t based on jazz, blues and latin rhythms, they’d be hard pressed to find anything left to award. There hasn’t been any “white” music since Tin Pan Alley in the 1930s.
Sad,sad,so very sad. Aren’t we beyond these petty discussions. Music is for everyone. Who cares whats from where or how it got there??? If you don’t like it turn it off or leave the room.
Who needs narrow minded , tunnel visioned morons who insist on being heard. NOT ME.
