AerosmithAerosmith guitarist Joe Perry confirmed rumors that singer Steven Tyler has left the band. In an interview with The Las Vegas Sun, Perry said “Steven quit as far as I can tell.” Tyler, who suffered a broken shoulder at an August concert in Sturgis, SD, said recently that he planned to “work on the brand of myself.” Said Perry, “We’ll probably find somebody else and then we’ll be able to move Aerosmith up a notch.” [Guardian.co.uk]

R.I.P. drummer Jerry Fuchs, who played with !!!, the Juan MacLean and Turing Machine. Fuchs fell to his death at a Brooklyn fundraising party in an industrial building; he was trying to leap over a gap between an elevator and the building’s fifth floor when his jacket got caught on the elevator car. The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, the reality show that will follow Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon Jackson in the months after their brother Michael’s death, will begin on December 13 on A&E. Originally a special focusing on the Jacksons’ proposed comeback tour, the series has been expanded to six episodes. [Gigwise.com]

Morrissey cut his Saturday night show at Liverpool’s Echo Arena short when he was hit in the head with a bottle thrown by an audience member. Moz was singing the rather apt song “Black Cloud” when the incident happened, after which he said “Goodnight” and left the stage. Just a couple of weeks ago, Morrissey collapsed on stage after singing “This Charming Man.” [Stereogum.com]
