Al MartinoVocalist Al Martino died on October 13 at age 82. Best known for his performance as ’40s crooner Johnny Fontane in Francis Ford Coppola’s classic 1972 film “The Godfather,” Martino also sang the film’s title song, “I Have but One Heart (O Marenariello)” (better known as “The Love Theme From The Godfather”‘). Prior to his iconic film role, Martino had a two-decade long singing career and scored a trans-Atlantic hit in 1952 with “Here In My Heart,” which marked him as the first American artist to top the charts in Britain.
