Cher will act alongside Christina Aguilera in “Burlesque,” a contemporary musical about a young girl (Aguilera) struggling to make it big in a Los Angeles burlesque club run by an ex-dancer (Cher). The role will mark Cher’s first onscreen gig since 1999. [Variety.com]

Sunny Day Real Estate has reunited! The band will celebrate its reunion with a North American tour this fall, including several dates in California. Two days before the tour’s kickoff, Sub Pop will commemorate the event by reissuing the two albums that feature Sunny Day’s original lineup. [Pitchfork.com]

Canadian export Bryan Adams will put his own stamp on the country. Literally. The pop/rock songwriter’s face will grace a new postage stamp, making him one of four artists (including Stompin’ Tom Connors, Edith Butler, and Robert Charlebois) to be featured in the Canadian Recording Artists stamp series. Styx reportedly caused quite the stir at the White House, where the band made a surprise appearance yesterday afternoon. The classic rock veterans enjoyed a private tour of the mansion before decamping to the White House Briefing Room, where they took the stage after press secretary Robert Gibbs’ briefing and fielded questions from the press.
