Van Halen has announced intentions to sue Nike, claiming that the sneaker company’s new brand of running shoes “infringes on the aesthetics of Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstrat guitar.” Damages, confiscation of profits, and the destruction of the entire shoe line (!!) are all included in the band’s list of demands, although the legal papers make no mention of brown M&Ms. [Guardian.co.uk]
American Idol finalist Adam Lambert has begun writing and recording with RedOne, the producer behind Lady GaGa’s hit singles. “I want to go rock — David Bowie and Queen, but make it more easy for people to get,” RedOne said of the collaboration. EVH has enough cash, but, I do see his point. The shoes are clearly ripping off his design.
I’m not buying his shoes, though, I’m going to make my own using black paint, red paint, and some masking tape.
So sue me.
I’m not a fan of “One More Chance” at all…maybe I need to listen to it more, but it just sounds cheesy. I really hope that song isn’t indicative of their new sound, as they are already slowly declining in quality with their music. Their debut was great, A Weekend in the City was good, albeit with some filler (I’d recommend that you check out the b-sides to that album…some of them are even better than the album material), and Intimacy was pretty good, but contained even more weak songs.
Only Bowie can rock like Bowie
actually, if you look a little deeper than a mirrored puddle, you will find that one DAVID WERNER rocked quite a bit like Bowie.
I’ll bet you can even ask Brian, Eno.
DAVID WERNER! Wow, that’s a blast from my past. Of course, comparing David W to David B is a little silly, but nowhere near as incomprehensible as comparing “Under Pressure” to any trifle that can be mustered by this year’s flash’s in the pan. Lady Gag-Gag and Eyeliner Boy, seperate or combined, are to rock as will.i.am is to William Shakespeare.
Lady Gaga is more rock and roll than you’ll ever be, Mike.
yeah, because Queen and Bowie make such difficult music that’s so hard for people to “get”.
Werner’s pretty good, already checked Eno though. Hey i’m only 18 i don’t know all the bands from the 70’s, I just thought saying you wanna rock like bowie is a bold statement.
