Nice, but I still like the one with all the 8-tracks stacked up… the record club is no more, they are not accepting new members and re-directing would-be joiners to yourmusic.com, a $6.99 a month subscription service whose selection is getting mysteriously skimpier every time I visit.
Perfect. I think I responded to that exact ad while lying around near a pool sometime in 1989. The coolest thing ever was when the first pack of CD’s or tapes showed up. The least cool thing ever was when a Lillian Axe tape arrived because some doofus (me) forgot to decline it.
I remember buying my first batch of albums through a company like this. My burning youth needed to be soundtracked by B. Brown’s Don’t Be Cruel and AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.
I remember having to order a bunch of other albums from what was a pretty rinky-dinky catalogue in order to pay off all the freebies I got when I joined.

Ha ha!

I started a black market at school using this very same thing! “I’ve got ‘Automatic for the People’ for 4 dollars — who wants it?”
