Kind of Blue gets reissued every other year though.
Tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley is growing and growing. Fantasy, intonation, simplicity, rhythm. Marvellous.
I’m surprised by the omission of the Louis Armstrong Fleischmann’s Yeast Broadcasts, the Mosaic Basie-Lester Young 1936-40 set, and the Influence of Bix Beiderbecke set. All of the reissues above are certainly significant to someone, but the list suggests, I guess, that jazz came up the river from somewhere around 1955. I thought it was earlier . . .
