The Chinese Communist Party doesn’t approve of Guns N’ Roses’ new album. In a recent newspaper article titled “American band releases album venomously attacking China,” the Party deemed Chinese Democracy an attempt to “grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn.” [Variety.com]

Meanwhile, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has announced that both Ozzy Osbourne and Fergie will appear on his upcoming solo record. [NME.com]

A new Jenny Lewis song, “Barking at the Moon,”
appears in the animated film Bolt. “How the wind feels on my cheeks when I’m barking at the moon!” Miss Lewis intones in a womanly vibrato, doing her best to inject some indie cred into a movie starring John Travolta and Miley Cyrus. [PitchforkMedia.com]

Krafterwerk’s Fritz Hilpert suffered a minor heart attack this past weekend, just minutes before the band was set to take the stage in Melbourne, Australia. After checking himself into a hospital for the evening, Hilpert returned the following day to play the Global Gathering concert in Perth. [CMJ.com]

Jason Isbell, former guitarist for the Drive-By Truckers, will release his second solo album in February 2009. Titled Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, the album was recorded in the Truckers’ stomping grounds of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Fans can listen to a new track from the record, “Seven-Mile Island,” on Isbell’s MySpace page. [CountryStandardTime.com]

‘NYSNC veteran Joey Fatone is now designing bathrooms. Having aligned himself with Charmin Restrooms, an initiative that installs luxurious public bathrooms in Manhattan’s Times Square, Fatone was recently commissioned to create his own stall. Fatone’s loo displays “a concert-like setting, complete with disco lights and music.” [MTV.com]
