PBS will be showing a documentary about the first all-female mariachi band. Mariachi is a very male-dominated style, so this group really is something special.
Highlights…
WTF Moment of the Week: Making the press rounds for Real Emotional Trash, Stephen Malkmus appeared late last Friday night on Fox News’ Red Eye. The thought of this quintessential indie-rocker on Fox News — even their “irreverent” show — is enough to cause some real cerebral whiplash, but his amused-yet-bored handling of the interview suggests he could have a thriving career as an indie-rock pundit. Malkmus on the McLaughlin Group, perhaps? [Stereogum.com]
In related “seems like April Fools’ but actually isn’t” happenings, Kylie Minogue appeared on Dancing With the Stars.
